Calculator profile. To open the calculator you provide your name, email, and company name; website, role, industry, location, revenue range, employee range, and your reason for valuing the business are optional.

Valuation runs. Every run is stored: the inputs you submitted, the result, the generated report, and whether it came from the web page, the API, or an AI connection. Valuation inputs are financial figures about a business; submit only what you are entitled to share.

AI and API access. Access keys and AI (MCP) connections are tied to your profile. Credentials are stored as cryptographic hashes, never in plain text. Runs made by your AI are logged the same way as runs made on the page.

Profile and run information is used to operate the calculator and deliver your reports, to maintain a record of who uses the tool, to understand how it is used, and to contact you about the tool, related work, and things I build or offer. If you tick the newsletter box you also get the newsletter; mailings include an unsubscribe link.

The calculator sets one cookie, jme_bv_access, which is how your browser keeps access to the tool. It lasts 180 days. The site uses Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics to measure visits: pages viewed, approximate location, device, and referrer. Google Analytics sets its own cookies; you can block cookies in your browser and the site still works.

The site is hosted on Vercel and data is stored with Supabase; analytics are processed by Google and Vercel. These providers may process data outside Canada, including in the United States. Beyond these providers, personal information may be disclosed where the law requires it, and transfers with the tool or the business behind it if either changes hands.

Email jmemaxwell@gmail.com to ask what is held about you, to correct it, or to withdraw consent; withdrawing consent ends calculator access. This site is run from Ontario, Canada and handles personal information under PIPEDA. It is not directed at children.
